Primary Red is a Series 1, semi-transparent acrylic colour formulated with Quinacridone (PV19) a balanced, spectrum-centred red essential for foundational colour mixing. As one of the core primaries, Primary Red serves as an ideal teaching pigment for exploring colour theory and is widely used in educational settings for demonstrating primary, secondary, and tertiary blends.
Derived from the highly regarded Quinacridone family, PV19 offers clarity, vibrancy, and superb lightfastness. It mixes cleanly with a wide range of colours:
- With Yellow Deep: produces vivid sunburst oranges
- With Ultramarine Blue: creates deep mauveine tones
- With Primary Yellow and Blue: forms a comprehensive CMY palette for expansive colour mixing
- With Titanium White or Black: allows for luminous tints and atmospheric shades
